Bathing Summer Day

Yi Chun Chung's design, "Bathing Summer Day," is a residential house that seamlessly integrates different spaces to create a warm, relaxing, dynamic, and quiet environment for a parent-child residence. The design aims to provide a visually spacious and bright living area while maintaining distinct functional areas.

The spacious living room and the semi-open aluminum-framed glass study room retain wide and bright visual effects, despite having different functional areas. This integration of spaces allows for a seamless flow and a harmonious atmosphere throughout the house.

One of the unique features of "Bathing Summer Day" is the children's bedroom. It is dominated by sweet and tender colors, with exquisite wall decorations and small potted plants, creating a vibrant and lively space. The round button-shaped wardrobe handles, brightly colored and scattered, add an interesting touch to the room. These thoughtful details reflect the heart-warming life of the family of five.

The design of "Bathing Summer Day" incorporates various technologies and techniques to bring the vision to life. The porch uses a gray mirror to enlarge the narrow corridor and integrates storage space with the TV wall. The gray special paint is the main color, ensuring the visual weight is not too heavy. The transparent glass compartment of the study room makes the bookcase the focal point of vision. The piano is combined with a sliding door bookcase, allowing children to add imagination and creativity while reading.

With dimensions of 165 square meters, "Bathing Summer Day" offers a spacious and functional living space for the family. The design utilizes special paint, laminate flooring, hole board, magnetic blackboard, and grille to create a unique and inviting atmosphere.

The interaction within the design is carefully considered. The long, big island in the kitchen is connected to a simple and warm solid wood dining table. This space serves not only as a place to invite relatives and friends but also as a practical desk for children to do their homework.

The "Bathing Summer Day" project was completed in 2020, and it showcases the result of thorough research and understanding of the residents' needs. The design aims to create a humanized space that caters to the lifestyle and preferences of the family.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, such as incorporating a dressing room without compromising the master bedroom's comfort, Yi Chun Chung successfully implemented creative solutions. The sliding door method was used to hide the makeup mirror, ensuring it does not shine on the bed. Intriguing paintings were hung on the bed to create a relaxing atmosphere.

With a warm wood color scheme, moderate stone embellishments, and a refreshing water grey color for the TV wall, "Bathing Summer Day" offers a panoramic view of the open interior space. The design encourages family activities in the guest dining room, which also serves as a study area for children. The open environment fosters growth and learning, while functional storage spaces teach the importance of organization.

Photographer Andy Wang beautifully captures the essence of "Bathing Summer Day." This exceptional design has been recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. The award acknowledges the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the project, meeting professional and industrial requirements. "Bathing Summer Day" is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
